Your privacy is of the utmost importance to us. This Privacy Policy describes how Generous Co Inc. (“generousco.ai”, “Generous”, “Generous”, or “we”) collects, uses, and discloses information about you when you access our websites, mobile applications, and other online products and services (collectively, the “Services”) and when you contact our customer service, communicate with us on social media, or otherwise interact with us.
Please keep in mind that some of our products and services may be subject to a separate privacy policy. This is the case if these services link to another notice rather than to this Policy.
The end of this Privacy Policy contains additional information for individuals located in the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, and for residents of California.
We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy from time to time. If there is a change, we will change the date at the top of the policy and, where appropriate, provide you with additional notice.
Information Gathering
Information that you provide to us
We may collect information when you create an account, use interactive features (such as when you assign a meditation grade or register), fill out a form or survey, participate in a contest or promotion, make a purchase, make a purchase, communicate with us via social media, request customer support, or otherwise communicate with us.
Information you provide to us may include:
- personal data: your name, email address, social networks linked to your account, and mailing address;
- your payment details: your payment details;
- your views and opinions: comments, survey responses, and other information included in your interactions with us or otherwise provided as part of the Services. Some users also provide us with health information in their comments or other messages, but we do not infer any health characteristics from this information and always treat it in accordance with the purpose for which it was provided to us;
- information on employment: we may also collect employment information if you sign up for one of our specialized initiatives;
- other information that you could give us: password, language settings, goals, previous meditation experience, previous meditation experience, sleep patterns, mood, and thoughts that you provide to us during the recordings.
Information we collect when you use the Services or interact with us
When you use the Services or interact with us, we collect the following information about you:
- usage information: each time you use our Services, we collect usage information such as the sessions you use, the videos you watch or content you listen to, the screens or features you access, and other similar types of usage information;
- transactional information: when you make a purchase or return, we collect transaction information, such as product description, price, subscription or free trial expiration date, and transaction time and date;
- log information: when you use our Services, we collect standard log files that include the type of web browser you are using, application version, access times and dates, pages viewed, your IP address, and the page viewed prior to arriving at our websites;
- information about the device: we collect information about the computer or mobile device that you use to access the Services, including hardware model, operating system and version, device identifiers defined by your device's operating system, and mobile network information;
- communications: we may record our communications, including chat messages, phone calls, or video calls, for example when you use our chat bot or provide us with feedback or market research data.
Information we infer or generate when you use the Services
When you use our Services, we collect the following information about you:
- the user id: user ID that we will associate with your account;
- the information deduced: information about you that we infer from other data that we collect. For example, like most platforms, we use your IP address to determine the approximate location of your device. We can make informed estimates about your gender or age. We may also use the information we collect about you to determine how likely it is that you will continue to use the Services in the future.
Information we collect from other sources
We may also obtain information about you from other sources, including:
- transaction information: information from third parties that you use to install our application or purchase a subscription;
- calendar information: information from third party calendar services that you choose to integrate with our services;
- social media data: if you create an account via a social network or log into your account through a social network, we will have access to certain information relating to that account, such as your name and other account information, in accordance with the authorization procedures set out by that social network;
- data from third party health applications: subject to your permission, we may also receive data from the health app on your mobile device (such as Apple HealthKit or Google Health Connect), including your hours and sleep goals. However, we do not infer any characteristics relating to your health from this information and we always process it in accordance with the purpose for which it was originally provided;
- cookie data: we may collect information through cookies and web beacons;
- information that you make public: finally, we may obtain information that you have made public, in particular on websites and online services that you use, on market research platforms and/or on professional contact databases.
Use of information
We use the information we collect to:
- provide and maintain the Services and, in particular, perform debugging in order to identify and repair errors (the legal basis for this processing is the execution of the user agreement between you and Generous);
- improve the Services, in particular by developing new products and services (the legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in improving and developing new services, by looking for ways to further improve our Services and our business);
- process transactions and fulfill orders (the legal basis for this processing is the execution of the user agreement between you and Generous);
- send you transactional or relational messages, such as receipts, account notifications, customer service responses, and other administrative messages (the legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in providing relevant information about our Services, including your purchases from us);
- communicate with you about products, services, and events offered by Generous and other suppliers, solicit feedback, and send you news, gifts, or other information that we think may be of interest to you (see the “Your Choices” section below to understand how to unsubscribe from marketing messages) (the legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in providing information about products and services that may be of interest to you, unless applicable law requires us to obtain your consent, in which case we will);
- monitor and analyze trends, uses, and activities in connection with the Services (the legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in improving our Services and in understanding the needs and expectations of our users);
- detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and other illegal activities and protect the rights and property of Generous and third parties, including to enforce our agreements and policies (the legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in preventing fraud and in protecting and securing our assets, customers, employees, and the public);
- comply with our legal obligations, for example by processing transaction records for tax returns and other compliance activities (the legal basis for this processing is compliance with our legal obligations under applicable law, for example tax laws and consumer protection laws);
- create anonymous or aggregated data that can no longer reasonably be used to identify you (the legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in creating non-personally identifiable data to help improve our Services, provide reports to third parties, and otherwise improve and promote our business);
- personalize your online experience and the ads you receive on other platforms based on your preferences, interests, and browsing behaviors (the legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in improving your experience with the Services and in serving ads that are more relevant to your interests, unless applicable law requires us to obtain your consent, in which case we will); and
- facilitate the organization of contests, sweepstakes and promotions (the legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in conducting promotional activities in which our users may voluntarily decide to participate).
Disclosure of information
We may disclose information about you as follows, as set out in this Privacy Policy or at the time of collection:
- to companies and subcontractors who provide services on our behalf, including providers of messaging, payment processing, or fraud prevention services, among others;
- to accountants, auditors, lawyers and other external professional advisors to Generous, subject to contractual confidentiality obligations, if applicable;
- if we believe that disclosure is in accordance with, or required by, any applicable law or legal process, including a court order, subpoena, or other legal requests by public authorities to meet national security or law enforcement requirements;
- if we believe that your actions are inconsistent with our user agreements or policies, if we believe that you have violated the law, when necessary for the purposes of preventing, investigating, detecting, or prosecuting criminal offences or enforcing criminal sanctions, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of Generous or third parties, or if necessary to assert legal claims or defend against such claims;
- as part of negotiations on any merger, transfer of Company assets, fund raising or acquisition of all or part of our business by another company;
- between Generous and its parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, and other current and future companies under common control and ownership;
- If your Generous subscription was made available to you by someone else, such as your employer or a family member who invited you to use one of their Charge subscriptions, we may inform them that you signed up to use the subscription they offered you;
- if your Generous subscription was purchased as part of a third party promotion, for example in a bundle with a third party service or offered through a promotional code distributed by that third party, we may inform them that you used the offer; and
- with your consent or as directed by you. For example, you may choose to share actions you have taken through the Services by using “share” or similar features or by linking your Generous account to third party services.
We also share aggregate information or other information with third parties that is not subject to obligations under the data protection laws of your jurisdiction.
Advertising and analytics services provided by third parties
We allow other providers to provide analytics services and serve ads on our behalf on the Internet and other online services. These entities use cookies, web beacons, device identifiers, and other technologies to gather information about your use of the Services and other websites and online services, including your IP address, device identifiers, web browser information, mobile network information, mobile network information, mobile network information, pages viewed, pages viewed, time spent on pages or in applications, links viewed, and conversion information. This information may be used by Generous and other providers to, among other things, analyze and track data, measure the popularity of certain content, deliver advertising and content based on your interests on our Services and other websites and online services, and to better understand your online browsing activities. Some of our advertising partners allow us to convert your email address or phone number into an identifier that allows us to serve ads that are more relevant to you on other platforms.

Data transfer
Headquartered in the United States, Generous operates in the United States as well as in other countries. As a result, we and our service providers process information in countries that do not necessarily offer levels of data protection equivalent to those in your home jurisdiction. Where required by law, we provide adequate protection for the transfer of personal data in accordance with applicable law, for example by obtaining your consent, relying on adequacy decisions by the European Commission, or by signing standard contractual clauses. If applicable, you can request a copy of these standard contractual clauses by emailing us at contact@generousco.com.
Confidentiality rights
You can update certain account information that you provide to us (such as your password, name, and email address) by logging into your account or by emailing us at contact@generousco.com.
Wherever you are, but subject to certain limitations and conditions provided by law, you have the right to request:
- information about what information we hold about you;
- to access information that we hold about you (including in a portable format);
- to correct the information we hold about you;
- to refuse “sales,” targeted advertising, or “sharing”; and
- to request the deletion of information that we hold about you.
Where appropriate, you also have the right to demand the limitation of the processing of sensitive personal data or to refuse profiling for decisions that produce legal effects or of similar importance. However, Generous does not currently perform any processing that gives rise to these refusal rights.
If you request that your information be deleted, please keep in mind that we will keep some data if required or permitted by law.
Exercise of rights
You can exercise your rights by sending us an email to contact@generousco.com. We will not discriminate against anyone who wants to exercise their rights.

Verification
Where appropriate, under applicable law, for example with respect to requests for knowledge, correction, or deletion, we may verify your request by asking you to provide information that matches what we have in our records.
You may designate an authorized agent to exercise, on your behalf, any of the rights set out in this Privacy Policy. Authorized agents must submit requests through the same channels, but we will need proof that the person is authorized to act on your behalf and may also ask you to confirm your identity directly with us.

If we refuse your request, you can appeal our decision by sending an email to contact@generousco.com.
Other choices
Promotional communications
You may opt out of receiving promotional emails from Generousco.com by following the instructions in the emails or by logging into your account. If you opt out of receiving them, we may continue to send you non-promotional emails, such as emails about your account or our ongoing business relationships.
Mobile notifications/alerts
Subject to your consent, we will send you promotional and other notifications on your mobile device. You can turn off these messages at any time by changing the notification settings on your mobile device.

- Improving and maintaining the Services : improve the Services and develop new products and services.
- Debug : detect and correct errors and other operational problems.
- Communicate : on marketing and other relational or transactional topics.
- Analyze your usage : monitor trends and activities related to the use of the Services.
- Personalize your experience : adapt content and advertising on the Services and on other platforms based on your preferences and behavior.
- For legal reasons : detecting security incidents or other malicious, misleading, fraudulent, or illegal activities and ensuring protection against these activities.
Parties with which the information can be shared
- Service companies : companies providing customer support, fulfilling subscriptions and orders, advertising measurement, communication and surveys, data analysis, fraud prevention, cloud storage, managing and logging bug fixes, and processing payments.
- Third parties with consent : parties with whom you agree to share your information, for example social networks or university researchers.
- Public entities or other third parties : for legal purposes, such as to comply with the law or for other legal reasons as described in our Information Disclosure article.
California consumers have the rights listed above in the Privacy Rights section. We use cookies and similar tracking technologies, and we allow our advertising partners to use these technologies, in order to, among other things, show you ads promoting Generous Co on other websites and services. These activities may be considered “selling,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” under certain privacy laws. We do not knowingly “sell” or “share” personal information about consumers under the age of 16.
Financial Incentives Notice: We offer a variety of financial incentives. For example, we may offer incentives to customers who participate in a survey or provide testimonials. When you receive a financial incentive, we collect personal information about you such as your identifiers (for example, your name and email address) and information about your experiences using the Services. You may choose to receive a financial incentive by following the registration or participation instructions provided and, with respect to any ongoing benefits, you may unsubscribe at any time, such as by following the unsubscribe instructions in the applicable program terms or by contacting us. In some cases, the financial incentive will be subject to additional terms and conditions, which we will communicate to you when you register. The value of your personal information is reasonably correlated to the value of the offer or discount presented to you.

Subject to certain limitations and conditions provided by law, in addition to the rights described in the Privacy Rights section above, you have the right to:
- object to certain treatments (for example direct marketing) or require the limitation of processing in certain circumstances (for example, keeping the data without continuing to process them pending the resolution of a complaint).
- withdraw any consent you have given us.
- ask Generous Co to communicate certain data to another data controller. You have the right to file a complaint about our data protection practices with a regulatory authority.
